CX500 Carb rebuild project
Well I had a small amount of free time today so I pulled the carb pack off the CX500. I was a bit worried I might damage something (like the insulators) but everything came off without a problem.
Upon opening up the float bowls I noticed right away that they both clearly needed cleaning and one of them needed some care. There appears to be some rust at the bottom of the left side one, I’m hoping it’s nothing serious.
You can see here (kind of) the furst sitting on the main jet.
And where it collected in the bottom of the bowl it self (yuck)
The right side however looks fine, with the exception of some gasoline boogers
So at this point, I’ll probably pull the top apart as well and careful make sure that everything is nice and clean so the bike runs well once I get it back together.
